This course costs $50 + HST. Your company will be invoiced after you enroll (at the end of the month). You will only be charged once, even if you review the course multiple times. You will have access to the course for one year after enrolling.
The Dealing with Difficult People course addresses ways to deal with difficult people – both those that you know (such as co-workers) and those that you don’t know (such as clients). It is appropriate for staff and Directors. The course is a required credit in the Mutual Service component of the Insurance Practitioner’s Certification program.
This course contains a high-level view of:
- The reasons people are difficult
- A four-step strategy for dealing with difficult people
- How to stay calm and avoid being baited
- Non-verbal communication
- Active listening
- How to show empathy
- Some common types of difficult people, what makes them tick, and specific strategies for dealing with each
- Conflict resolution strategies
The course contains written material, videos, and activities. While the activities are not graded, they are a valuable way to check your understanding. You will need approximately an hour to an hour and a half to complete the entire course. You do not need to complete the course in one sitting. You can leave the course and return to it at any time. Your progress will be saved. You must finish all sections to get your certificate of completion.
